The NTT IndyCar series completes their first two practices sessions of the weekend, preparing for tomorrow’s qualifying and the 70-lap race. Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi, still running hungry from his battle with the current Indy 500 Champion Simon Pagenaud, remains at the top of this weekend’s two sessions with a 01:15:1367. The field is split evenly from there for both Chevrolet and Honda in the top 10, with Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden running a 01:15.6641.

Dale Coyne’s Sebastien Bourdais ran into issues in Practice 1, lending to awkward time spent in the run-off area, while Practice 2 lent to Champion Pagenaud stalling on the grid and red flagging of the practice session. The rough track has lent to quite a few grazes of the walls in several corners.

A Honda winner looks hopeful for tomorrow’s first race, but if anyone can make a move on that territory, it’s a Penske driver.
