I am writing to you from the magnificent Montréal, Quebec, Canada, where I am (in real-time) gearing up to attend the 50th Canadian Grand Prix. It’s been an exciting and busy few days not only traversing a good span of Canada (which, by the way is just beautiful, sans a few of the more pungent farms…), but also exploring the city and festivities surrounding the Grand Prix.
And let me tell you, much like I’ve experienced in Indianapolis surrounding the 500, the air here is the same. Shop windows catered to drivers and checkered flags–downtown festivities, fast cars and supercars everywhere–it’s a race fan’s paradise in a way.
(Especially the display of Aryton Senna’s 1987 F1 car….)
But when I do return to the States, I will be writing to update you on the excitement of the race weekend, and some other amazing things I have had the opportunity to be a part of this past week (shout-out to Larry and Darryl at I.E. Sports Radio–but more to come on that!).
So until then, it is 10:00 here in Montréal–race action at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is at 14:00 (2 p.m.)!
(See you soon!!)
